INTERNATIONAL CONTEST

International Photography Contest in favor of disarmament

Young people from 12 to 28 years old can participate without any restrictions.

Topic: A world free of weapons.

Objetive:

Show the cruel reality of thousands of life´s, living sorrounded by all kind of weapons. Be able to demostrate the destruction power of weapons in children, women and men around the world. Try to capture the essence of weapons as things that generate violence and death.

Format: Photo’s Measurments are 15 x 22 cm. The accepted format for printing is CMYK a 300 dpi’s and RGB a 90 dpi’s in JPG format. Free Style photo. Black and white and color will be accepted. Edited photographies will not be accepted.

Photos presentation will be online.

Identification: Photos must include the following : full name, age, country and city of origin. Photo title (If it has one), geolocation (place where the photo was taken), contestant’s email address, college (if studying) and a description of the piece (optional).

Contest’s conditions

Contestant must be the picture’s copyright holder, and must assure that third parties will not be able to claim any rights over the pictures presented in the contest.

All participants must authorize the distribution, publication and communication of their work in the Conference. Moral and Intelectual authorship will always be respected by citing the author’s name in every reproduction made of their work.
Photographs must be unpublished.
2 pictures sent maximum.

Panel of judges:

The panel of judges will be represented by two mexican photographers of international quality, wich are Francisco Mata Rosas and Pedro Meyer. Beside them, there will be a UN functionary and a mexican specialist in the issue of disarmament.

The Judges will evaluated the creativity, originality, concept and technic of the picture.

Judges decision will be irrivocable.

Participation in the contest suppose total agreement with this rules.

Awards:

First place will win a camera and the original Conference Scrapbook signed by an international personality of the UN.

Second and third place will received the Scrapbook of the UN Conference and their photos will be presented in all the Conferences activities.

All the photos will be presented in the Conference activities.
